Gandhinagar, August 1 (NationPress) The Gujarat government is set to host a state-level event for 'PM Kisan Utsav Diwas' in Gandhinagar on Saturday.

During this significant occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address farmers nationwide via a virtual platform and unveil the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) initiative, which aims to provide direct financial support to farmers.

In remarks made prior to the event, State Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel revealed that more than 9.7 crore farmers across India will benefit from financial assistance exceeding Rs 20,500 crore through this installment.

Specifically, in Gujarat, over 52.16 lakh farming families will receive a total exceeding Rs 1,118 crore, which will be directly credited to their bank accounts.

During the ceremony in Gandhinagar, beneficiaries of various agricultural schemes from both the central and state governments will receive support. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will commend progressive farmers for their efforts.
