Gurugram, March 24 (AINS) A collaborative effort by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and Haryana Sheri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has led to a significant crackdown on encroachments throughout the city.

During a recent meeting, it was resolved that a focused operation would be executed targeting illegal encroachments and unauthorized constructions in the Sector 29 region.

The CEO of GMDA, Shyamal Misra, has instructed the DTP GMDA to maintain strict oversight and implement robust actions against encroachments in key areas of Gurugram.

Moreover, he emphasized the need to preserve the park and its amenities for public use.

In furtherance of this initiative, DTP GMDA and Nodal Officer for Encroachments in Gurugram, R.S. Batth, along with HSVP officials, conducted an operation accompanied by the Enforcement Wing and 50 police personnel. JCBs were also mobilized to tow illegally parked vehicles.

Over 150 unauthorized shanties adjacent to Leisure Valley Park that had previously been ordered to vacate were demolished. The team also addressed the Booth Market in Sector 29, where shopkeepers were occupying public spaces and had expanded over five times their designated shop areas.

Approximately three illegal shops and public areas were cleared, and two temporary structures functioning as cafes were dismantled. The encroachment removal was a collaborative effort with the police and the HSVP.

Additionally, the rampant illegal parking of buses that obstructed visitor parking spaces was cleared. Challans were issued to the buses and other heavy vehicles, and the garages within the parking area were demolished.

Nodal Officer for Encroachments in Gurugram, R.S. Batth, warned all violators against future encroachments, stating that FIRs would be filed against repeat offenders.

“Sector 29 is one of the key areas in Gurugram, and Leisure Valley Park is a significant landmark in the city. We will persist with our comprehensive efforts, and I urge all offenders to cease their illegal encroachments,” Batth stated.
