Key Takeaways
Chandigarh, March 28 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, announced on Saturday that there are currently 4,032 government-operated petrol stations functioning throughout the state, achieving an average daily sales volume of 4,804 kiloliters of petrol and 12,003 kiloliters of diesel.
He stated, “The state receives 200,000 gas cylinders each day, with around 190,000 cylinders being distributed.” This information was shared by the Chief Minister in a press conference regarding the status of LPG and fuel in the state amid the rising tensions in West Asia.
He assured that supplies of commercial LPG are being sustained.
“We are implementing measures to guarantee that there is no gas shortage in essential institutions like hospitals and schools,” he added. Currently, there is a stock of 173,000 commercial gas cylinders available.
“The Central government has created a framework allocating 70 percent specifically for the commercial LPG sector. Furthermore, domestic production of LPG has been boosted by 40 percent to decrease reliance on imports,” he noted.
In his address, the Chief Minister cautioned against black marketing and hoarding, mentioning that in Haryana, a lease rate of Rs 300,000 per kilometer is charged for laying PNG gas pipelines, payable in advance for ten years. “Our government has opted to change this to a one-time payment of Rs 1,000 per kilometer,” he revealed. Additionally, a target of 1,333,603 connections for PNG services has been established within the state. “Haryana maintains a robust position in the natural gas pipeline industry,” he remarked.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the reduction in excise duty on petroleum products, the Chief Minister stated, “This move will ensure that the prices of diesel, petrol, and gas remain stable for the public.”
He added, “The Central government has taken this initiative with a firm commitment to its Nation First policy.”
On Friday, Prime Minister Modi held a virtual meeting with chief ministers and lieutenant governors to assess preparedness, urging states to collaborate as 'Team India' to tackle the challenges arising from the ongoing conflict.
