During coordinated raids on six hotels, authorities have apprehended a total of 26 individuals, comprising both young men and women.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Anjani Anjan stated that this initiative was launched following credible intelligence indicating that numerous hotels in the area were masquerading as legitimate lodging facilities while facilitating prostitution.
In response to this intelligence, SP Anjan directed an immediate operation, establishing eight special teams led by DSP Manibhushan Prasad.
Beginning at 10 a.m., these teams spread out through the city, targeting Hotel 7 Days, Hotel Rukmani, Hotel Two Inch, Hotel Spicy, Hotel Siddhivinayak, and Hotel Varnika.
The raids persisted until 2 p.m. During the operations, police meticulously searched each room, confiscated illicit items, and gathered photographic and video evidence indicating organized prostitution.
Among those detained are several young individuals, including some college students. The arrested people are currently undergoing interrogation to determine their involvement, while hotel operators are being questioned about their connections to these organized activities.
Initial investigations suggest potential links to influential figures in the city, prompting police to delve deeper into their roles.
The six hotels involved in the raids have been sealed off pending further investigation.
SP Anjan issued a strong warning, declaring, “Such immoral and illegal activities will not be tolerated in Hazaribagh. The strictest legal action will be pursued against those facilitating or endorsing this racket.”
