Bhopal, Feb 18 (NationPress) The former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and prominent Congress figure Kamal Nath expressed on Tuesday that the populace possesses significant expectations regarding the forthcoming Global Investment Summit set to take place in Bhopal.

Nath, who has extensive experience overseeing various Ministries, including Commerce, Industry, and Textiles during the prior Congress-led UPA administration, remarked that the residents of the state are optimistic that this investment will generate employment opportunities for them.

He emphasized that the citizens of Madhya Pradesh are predominantly focused on whether the Global Investment Summit will yield job prospects rather than the statistics provided by the BJP-led state government.

Nath, who held the Global Investment Summit during the last Congress rule in Madhya Pradesh in 2019, asserted that past investor summits have not benefitted the state significantly, aside from creating photo opportunities for high-profile industry leaders and politicians.

He also pointed out that over 33 lakh youths are currently registered as unemployed in Madhya Pradesh, including graduates from renowned universities and educational institutions.

"The people of Madhya Pradesh are increasingly concerned about employment prospects and harbor considerable hopes for the impending Global Investment Summit. Hence, I urge you to inquire about how many jobs and employment targets the BJP government has envisioned for this summit?" he stated.

"The success of the upcoming summit will be gauged by its ability to deliver tangible results towards providing jobs for the youth in Madhya Pradesh. Otherwise, it will merely turn out to be another event orchestrated by the BJP," Nath conveyed in a statement.

The two-day Global Investment Summit is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bhopal on February 24 and is expected to draw industrialists and business delegates from over 60 countries.

For the initial Global Investment Summit held under his leadership, the Chief Minister Mohan Yadav-led Madhya Pradesh government has rolled out a new industrial policy, which will also be unveiled by PM Modi during this event.

During an apex committee meeting on Tuesday, CM Yadav instructed officials to collaborate closely to ensure the Global Investment Summit is grand, well-organized, and results-oriented.

He emphasized the necessity for meticulous arrangements to prevent any mismanagement.
