Ayodhya, April 11 (NationPress) A controversy has arisen following comments made by Nripendra Misra, the Chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee, who stated that decisions during pivotal moments like the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition were primarily influenced by political leaders rather than bureaucratic figures. In response, various Hindu saints and spiritual leaders in Ayodhya rallied behind him, condemning the late Mulayam Singh Yadav, the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, for issuing orders to open fire on the 'Karsevaks'.

Reflecting on the events from that time, Misra noted that in 1992, despite alarming reports about law and order issues in Ayodhya, Chief Minister Kalyan Singh had explicitly instructed the police not to fire upon the 'Karsevaks'.

He also highlighted his experience working under different political administrations, contrasting the responses of leaders like Mulayam Singh Yadav during crises.

Mahant Sitaram Das Ji Maharaj of Saket Bhavan Temple praised Misra's remarks, stating, “Administrative decisions are shaped by those in power; they are not made independently.”

He emphasized that Misra lacked the authority to make decisions when gunfire was directed at the 'Karsevaks', asserting that the orders came from Mulayam Singh Yadav, who has publicly acknowledged this multiple times.

Mahant Sitaram Das accused Yadav of being “against Ram Bhakts”, asserting that no matter which government is in power, Misra will continue to serve the nation.

“His (Nripendra Misra's) devotion to God signifies that he is and will always be a 'Ram Bhakt',” he added.

He further alleged that the Samajwadi Party and those engaging in appeasement politics are conspiring against Misra.

“He (Misra) will not be found guilty based on their accusations because the gunfire was ordered by Mulayam Singh Yadav,” reiterated Mahant Sitaram Das.

Similarly, Mahant Raju Das, a respected priest from Hanumangarhi, echoed these sentiments.

He affirmed that Misra's statements were accurate as “senior officials in top positions are inherently influenced by the Chief Minister of the state and must adhere to their directives.”

“As Yogi Adityanath is the current Chief Minister, all orders must have been coordinated with him. Ultimately, the Chief Minister bears the responsibility for decision-making,” he noted.

Mahant Raju Das further accused Mulayam Singh Yadav of prioritizing Muslim interests, suggesting “the decision to fire bullets was his (Mulayam Singh's) choice.”

Another temple priest in Ayodhya remarked that “Mulayam Singh Yadav's government was in power during that time, and government officials acted according to his commands. It was a deeply condemnable event.”
