Kolkata, Dec 21 (NationPress) On the eve of unveiling his new political party set for Monday, the suspended Trinamool Congress legislator Humayun Kabir issued a rallying cry on Sunday for all anti-Trinamool Congress and anti-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) factions to join forces and collaborate in an alliance aimed at displacing the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal during the pivotal Assembly elections approaching next year.
"I call upon all anti-Trinamool Congress and anti-BJP groups in West Bengal to come together. Let's forge a grand alliance to contest the upcoming Assembly elections. However, if any group believes they are above collaboration and cannot set aside their ego, my party will run independently. If necessary, I am prepared to field candidates in all 294 Assembly constituencies across West Bengal. I possess that capability," Kabir stated to the press on Sunday evening.
He emphasized that his current political maneuver is thoroughly strategic, and he will deliberate extensively before making any decisions.
"My mission is to unite the minority electorate. Our objective is to secure victories in at least 90 constituencies so that my party can significantly contribute to forming a new government after the next Assembly elections. Otherwise, my aspiration to establish the Babri Masjid at Belding in the Murshidabad district may remain unrealized," Kabir expressed.
Simultaneously, Kabir, the suspended legislator from Bharatpur in the minority-heavy Murshidabad district, shared his preferences for the logo of his new political formation, which he will reveal on Monday.
"My first choice for the logo is 'table'. My second option is 'twin roses'. If neither is possible, I will explore a third alternative," he remarked.
While he refrained from disclosing the name of his new party, Kabir assured that it would not include the terms 'Congress' or 'Trinamool'.
"Nevertheless, the citizens of West Bengal will find a connection with this party. It will be a representation of the people. Our focus will solely be on mass development," he added.
