Hyderabad, March 25 (NationPress) The Railway police have apprehended a suspect related to the alleged sexual assault attempt on a young woman aboard a Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) train in Hyderabad on Sunday night.
The 23-year-old victim suffered injuries after she leaped from the moving train in a bid to escape and is now receiving treatment at a private hospital.
The individual suspected of this crime has been identified as Jangam Mahesh, a resident of Gowdavalli village in Medchal district.
Railway police officials displayed the suspect's photograph to the survivor, who was unable to definitively identify him. The police are currently interrogating the suspect for further details.
This suspect has a background of Ganja addiction and prior criminal activities. He has been living alone since his separation from his spouse.
The victim had traveled to Secunderabad on Sunday for mobile phone repairs. After completing her visit, she arrived at Secunderabad Railway Station, purchased a general ticket, and boarded the Telapur-Medchal MMTS train, taking a seat in the women’s coach.

She was discovered injured near a railway bridge in Kompally. After bystanders notified the 108 ambulance service, she was transported to Gandhi Hospital and later moved to a private facility on Monday.
The woman is originally from Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh and works in a private firm in Hyderabad.
The police have formed four teams to track down the accused. Investigators have analyzed CCTV footage from all railway stations along the 28-km route between Secunderabad and Medchal to locate the suspect.
