Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, March 31 (NationPress) The Hyderabad Police are set to implement extensive measures to ensure the smooth and safe execution of the Hanuman Jayanti yatra taking place on April 2, as stated by Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar on Tuesday.
In preparation for this annual event, a coordination meeting was held by the Police Commissioner with various officials and yatra organisers.
It is anticipated that around 168 different processions will merge into the main yatra.
To maintain security, approximately 3,000 police officers, along with additional armed forces, will be stationed at critical locations. The Commissioner has advised organisers to train volunteers, manage crowds effectively, and strictly follow designated routes.
Special attention has been placed on the height of idols due to the presence of flyovers and railway bridges along the procession route.
The police have called on organisers and attendees to stay alert and promptly report any suspicious activities.
Traffic diversions will be enacted ahead of time to reduce public inconvenience, and citizens are urged to comply with police directions. Furthermore, the public has been warned against sharing or believing in rumors circulating on social media, with strict repercussions for those disseminating incendiary content.
After the meeting, the Commissioner inspected the 12-kilometre route of the yatra from Gowliguda Ram Mandir to Tadbund Hanuman Temple. The meeting was attended by officials from various departments and representatives from different Hindu organizations.
The Police Commissioner expressed confidence that just as Ram Navami was celebrated without incident two days prior, the Hanuman Jayanthi yatra would also proceed peacefully, thanks to the cooperation of the public and organisers.
In a related note, the Cyber Crime Unit of the Hyderabad City Police reported a major breakthrough in combating illegal online betting, gaming promotions, and fraudulent investment schemes.
Throughout March, continuous digital surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts led the Cyber Crime unit to uncover 129 social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram that were actively promoting 494 paid advertisements related to various online gaming, betting applications, and deceptive investment websites aimed at Indian users.
These advertisements were meticulously crafted to entice vulnerable individuals by offering promises of easy money, bonuses, referral commissions, and significant returns on investments.
The identified accounts were found to be systematically distributing promotional materials, referral links, and deepfake videos featuring well-known figures to mislead the public into participating in illegal betting and fraudulent investment schemes.
