The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is spearheading India’s involvement at 'BIOFACH 2026' with a significant and impactful representation.
This year's participation signifies a substantial enhancement compared to prior events, underscoring the growing prominence of Indian organic exports, the rising global appetite for organic products, and the increasing involvement of exporters, associations, and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), according to the statement.

The pavilion will present a diverse array of organic products such as rice, oilseeds, herbs, spices, pulses, cashew, ginger, turmeric, large cardamom, cinnamon, mango puree, and essential oils, among others, as highlighted in the statement.
Exhibitors from over 20 states and union territories will participate in the India Pavilion, showcasing the country's extensive agricultural and regional diversity. This participation emphasizes region-specific organic produce and value-added food items, illustrating India’s continuous growth in international organic trade.
In addition to product exhibitions, visitors to the India Pavilion will enjoy curated food tastings that highlight the flavors and aromas of Indian organic products. Live sampling of aromatic biryani made with premium organic basmati rice and spices will be featured. Additionally, visitors will be served five GI-tagged rice varieties, namely Indrayani rice, Navara rice, Gobindbhog rice, Red rice, and Chak Hao (Black rice), to showcase India’s heritage rice varieties.
APEDA has also engaged in extensive branding and impactful promotional efforts at significant locations throughout the Nuremberg Messe Exhibition Centre, further emphasizing India’s recognition as Country of the Year at BIOFACH 2026.
As the global narrative increasingly shifts towards sustainability and eco-friendly practices, India’s designation as Country of the Year at BIOFACH 2026 solidifies its stature as a worldwide leader in organic agriculture, the statement concluded.
