Srinagar, Sep 9 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Tuesday paid heartfelt tributes to two valiant Army personnel, Subedar Perbhat Gaur and Lance Naik Narender Sindhu, who lost their lives during ongoing operations against terrorists in Kulgam district.

“I pay my respects to the ultimate sacrifice made by our Army Bravehearts, Subedar Perbhat Gaur and Lance Naik Narender Sindhu. Their courage and unbreakable spirit will forever be remembered in our hearts. My thoughts are with their grieving families, and the nation stands united with them in this trying time,” stated the L-G.

Earlier that day, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah laid a wreath in remembrance of the two soldiers, expressing profound sorrow over their loss. An official statement highlighted that the extraordinary bravery, unwavering valour, and ultimate sacrifice of these soldiers will be honored eternally with deep respect and gratitude.

The Chief Minister also reaffirmed the government’s steadfast commitment to supporting the families of martyrs in every circumstance.

The two soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice during a crucial anti-terror operation in the Gudar forest area of Kulgam on Monday.

During this operation, two terrorists were neutralized, but three soldiers, including a junior commissioned officer (JCO), sustained injuries. Tragically, two of the injured soldiers succumbed while in hospital, although the medical team reports that the JCO's condition is stable.

J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat visited the Gudar forest operation site on Tuesday, where the joint forces are continuing their anti-terrorist operations.

The joint forces have initiated more aggressive anti-terror measures in the union territory, targeting not only the terrorists but also their overground workers (OGWs) and sympathizers.

Security forces assert that dismantling the terror ecosystem in the UT requires a focus beyond just the armed terrorists, extending to those who support and sustain terrorism.

Following the suspension of Operation Sindoor, there have been attempts by terrorists to infiltrate into J&K from the Pakistani side of the Line of Control (LoC).

The Jammu and Kashmir region is safeguarded by a 740 km long LoC, in addition to a nearly 240 km long International Border in Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts, which is monitored by the Border Security Force (BSF).

With support from Pakistan, terrorist organizations have been deploying drones to drop weapons, drugs, and cash on the Indian side along the International Border.

To counter this threat, the BSF has implemented specialized anti-drone technology to prevent these operations from sustaining terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Moreover, drug traffickers and peddlers are also under scrutiny by security forces, as it is believed that proceeds from drug smuggling and hawala networks fund terrorism.
