Srinagar, Oct 11 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, expressed profound respect for the remarkable sacrifices made by the nation's soldiers during a solemn ceremony at the Chinar Corps (XV Corps) in Srinagar, where he laid a wreath in tribute to two valiant soldiers.

An official communiqué revealed that the L-G honored Lance Havildar Palash Ghosh and Lance Naik Sujay Ghosh, who sacrificed their lives while serving the country.

According to reports, both Lance Havildar Ghosh and Lance Naik Ghosh made the ultimate sacrifice during counter-terror operations in the Kishtwar Range of Kokernag, facing severe weather conditions.

“I pay my respects to the ultimate sacrifice of our Army Bravehearts, Lance Havildar Palash Ghosh and Lance Naik Sujay Ghosh. The nation will forever be indebted to their extraordinary bravery and unwavering commitment. We stand united with the families of our heroes during this time of sorrow,” stated the L-G.

The remains of the two soldiers were located in a forest region of Anantnag district.

These para commandos had lost connection with their unit amidst an anti-terrorism mission in the wooded area between Kishtwar and Anantnag.

The collaborative efforts of the army, security forces, and J&K Police continue to target terrorist elements, their Over Ground Workers (OGWs), and sympathizers in a bid to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir.

Additionally, authorities are focusing on drug traffickers and those involved in illicit money transactions, as these operations are believed to fund terrorism in the region.

Jammu and Kashmir is safeguarded by a 740-km line of control (LoC) and a 240-km international border (IB), with the army overseeing the LoC and the BSF managing the IB. The LoC spans across Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, and parts of the Jammu district, while the IB is found in Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts.
