JP Nadda Criticizes Congress for Its 'Disdain' Toward Ambedkar, Emphasizes BJP's Commitment to His Legacy

New Delhi, Dec 19 (NationPress) A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rebuttal against the Congress related to the Ambedkar issue, BJP President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda on Thursday condemned the party for its historical disregard and contempt for Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the visionary behind the Indian Constitution.

Through a series of incisive comments on X, Nadda emphasized the Congress’ shortcomings and the BJP-led government's initiatives to uphold Ambedkar’s legacy.

“Since yesterday, Congress and its ROTTEN eco-system have been EXPOSED by all those who value truth, democracy, and social justice,” Nadda stated on X, adding, “I felt compelled to present some facts to demonstrate the profound CONGRESS HATE towards Dr Ambedkar.”

Nadda claimed that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, possessed “unfiltered hate” for Ambedkar. “This is why Pandit Nehru ensured Dr Ambedkar was defeated TWICE. He even wrote to people abroad, expressing his delight that the esteemed Babasaheb was no longer part of the Cabinet,” he remarked.

The BJP President reaffirmed his party's commitment to safeguarding Ambedkar’s legacy. He criticized the Congress for its failure to transform 26, Alipur Road, where Ambedkar passed away, into a suitable memorial. “It was our NDA Government that had the privilege of turning 26, Alipur Road into a significant landmark. This picture tells the story!” Nadda proclaimed, sharing a photograph of PM Modi at Alipur Road.

Referring to Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai, a sacred location for Ambedkar’s followers, Nadda stated, “For years, self-proclaimed guardians of social justice within Congress made hollow promises. In 2015, we ensured the land transfer was completed. It is PM Modi who has offered prayers there twice in recent years.”

Nadda also highlighted the delayed completion of the Dr Ambedkar International Centre at 15, Janpath. “The Congress left this project unfinished. Ultimately, in 2017, the center was inaugurated by PM Modi,” he noted.

He pointed out the Congress’ neglect of a residence in London where Ambedkar resided. “During PM Modi’s 2015 visit to the UK, he made sure the location was acquired by the Maharashtra Government,” he added.

The Union Minister also criticized Sam Pitroda, chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, for claiming that Jawaharlal Nehru contributed more to the Constitution than Dr Ambedkar. “The most loyal supporter of the Dynasty has revealed what Congress truly believes about Dr Ambedkar — that he played no role in the formation of our Constitution,” he said.

The BJP leader also took a jab at the Congress’ electoral performances in recent contests. “In June, you LOST the Lok Sabha elections for the third consecutive time. In October, you LOST in Haryana. In November, you LOST BADLY in Maharashtra. At least now stop deceiving… because your lies will not go unnoticed. The truth will always prevail… Jai Bhim!,” he asserted.

The Congress party has called for the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing him of showing disrespect towards Babasaheb Ambedkar. However, Home Minister Amit Shah has blamed the Congress for ‘distorting and twisting’ his Rajya Sabha speech for political gain.
