Rajasthan Judges Take the Lead in Cybersecurity Education for Students
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, April 7 (NationPress) In an innovative effort, judges from across Rajasthan entered classrooms on Tuesday to inform students about cybersecurity, emphasizing the increasing dangers present in today's digital landscape.
The judges, representing districts such as Jaipur, Kota, and Ajmer, visited schools to discuss prevalent cyber fraud tactics and ways to prevent them. This initiative is part of the statewide effort 'Empowering Rajasthan Youth: A Legal Literacy Initiative - 2026'.
This marks a pioneering approach in the state, where judges collaborate with teachers to enhance students' understanding of cybersecurity and legal knowledge.
As part of the ‘Transformative Tuesday’ initiative, approximately 1,400 judicial officers will hold sessions in numerous selected schools across Rajasthan. The curriculum will cover critical topics including cyberbullying, digital arrest scams, online fraud, and the safe use of social media.
The initiative is part of the larger program, 'Empowering Rajasthan Youth: A Legal Literacy Initiative - 2026', which aims to bolster legal awareness among youth. According to Hariom Attri, Member Secretary of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, the program was launched at the behest of Acting Chief Justice Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, officially initiated on February 20 during a state-level cyber law conference attended by Supreme Court Chief Justice Surya Kant.
The sessions are tailored for students in Classes 8 to 12, targeting over four lakh students in a single day.
This campaign will unfold throughout the year, with sessions scheduled every Tuesday, addressing a variety of legal topics. Beyond cyber safety, students will learn about laws affecting their daily lives, their constitutional rights, legal aid, child rights, women's rights, and responsible citizenship.
An innovative 'Court Wali Didi Complaint Box' will also be introduced in participating schools, allowing students to anonymously submit their concerns, which will be reviewed by teams from the Legal Services Authority for appropriate follow-up and resolution.
The overarching goal of this initiative is to not only heighten awareness but also to cultivate a sense of responsibility, legal literacy, and respect for the law among students.
