Agartala, Feb 25 (NationPress) Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Wednesday that Haryana's Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, has committed to delivering justice regarding the alleged severe assault on a Tripura student in Gurugram.

The victim, a 19-year-old studying biotechnology, reportedly endured horrific physical abuse from her live-in partner, leading to widespread indignation across Tripura and other Northeastern regions.

This shocking incident emerged last week when the victim reached out to her mother, claiming that her live-in partner, named Shivam, had been violently attacking her for three consecutive days while keeping her locked in a room.

Chief Minister Saha communicated via his X account: “I had a discussion today with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Nayab Singh Saini Ji, concerning the student victim from Gurgaon. The Hon’ble Chief Minister has assured me that he will personally oversee the matter and take all essential actions to secure justice for the victim.”

“I also assured the victim’s mother of all possible assistance from the Tripura government. Furthermore, I have instructed the Chief Resident Commissioner, Tripura Bhawan in Delhi, to provide unwavering support to the victim’s family,” the Chief Minister added.

At his request, Tripura's Social Welfare Minister, Tinku Roy, visited the hospital to evaluate the situation and offer support to the victim.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that he has contacted the Union Health Minister's office to guarantee the victim receives the best available medical care.

The victim’s mother disclosed that her daughter met the accused through online interactions a few months prior, with promises of marriage. She recounted that the accused had locked her daughter in a room for three days and inflicted inhumane torture, including forcing her to drink urine.

Shivam (19), hailing from Delhi's Narela area, was apprehended on February 19 following an FIR filed at the Badshahpur police station in Gurugram.

Recalling the traumatic events, the victim’s mother informed the media and police that her daughter had called her in panic, stating: “I have no time; I will be killed... Shivam has been beating me and burning me for the last three days. He will murder me today.”

She further accused the assailant of burning her daughter’s private areas with sanitizer and stabbing her multiple times. Upon hearing her daughter’s distress, she promptly contacted the Gurugram Police, who rescued the victim and admitted her to the hospital.

“My daughter is an excellent student who moved to Gurugram solely for her education. Shivam lured her into a trap via online chats. The inhumane torture resulted in her critical condition,” the victim's mother expressed, demanding strict punishment for the perpetrator.

Earlier statements from the police noted that the accused allegedly engaged in physical relations with the victim under the pretense of marriage. The Gurugram Police confirmed they are vigilantly monitoring the situation. Charges of rape and assault have been appended to the FIR, and the accused is now in judicial custody.

Investigations are ongoing.

The victim was initially treated at AIIMS-Delhi and is presently receiving care at Safdarjung Hospital in the capital, as per police reports.
