Agartala, Feb 12 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, delivered a powerful message on Wednesday, asserting that individuals who are discovered to be promoting or supporting insurgency within the state will face severe consequences.

While laying the foundation stone and inaugurating multiple development initiatives totaling Rs 40.58 crore, the Chief Minister emphasized that strict measures will be implemented against those involved in fostering insurgency.

“I am aware that certain individuals are trying to reignite insurgency in Tripura. Therefore, I caution them that this time, no one will escape if such actions are repeated. We possess all the necessary intelligence. It has taken considerable effort to restore peace in the state, and we are committed to comprehensive development at all strata,” stated Saha, who oversees the Home portfolio.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that the communist era brought chaos to Tripura. “Our goal is to foster a healthy environment in Tripura. The state has now emerged as one of the top-performing regions in the northeastern area. The government is also focused on the socio-economic advancement of women,” he added.

Saha conducted a virtual ceremony to lay foundation stones for various motor stands and transport offices across the state and inaugurated the Integrated Parking Complex at Puran Bazar in Khowai District.

He stated, “The foundation stone laying today and the inauguration of several development projects signify a significant milestone, not only for the Transport Department but also for the state’s history.” “Since Narendra Modi took office in 2014, there has been a special emphasis on northeastern development through the ‘Act East Policy’. The level of progress witnessed in the northeast is unprecedented. Tripura is also advancing in accordance with that vision.”

He noted that the current management of the Transport department will benefit vehicle owners, drivers, and passengers, a departure from previous practices.

“We are engaging with the public through our initiatives. The Prime Minister has repeatedly highlighted that action is irreplaceable. He has introduced us to the HIRA (Highways, Internet, Railway, and Airways) model. The PM is also providing financial backing for railway modernization. Thanks to the efforts of the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, approximately 12 MoUs have been signed with various organizations and militant groups in the northeastern states, promoting peace throughout the region. Currently, Tripura is free from extremism,” Saha remarked.

Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and numerous other officials attended the event.
