New Delhi, April 16 (NationPress) BJP Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a Lok Sabha discussion, labeling him as a foremost champion of women's empowerment in India. She emphasized that many citizens perceive his leadership as a pivotal force in promoting gender equality in the country.

During her address on the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026, the representative from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh asserted that women nationwide view the Prime Minister as a significant advocate for gender equality and a robust supporter of enhancing women's representation in public domains.

“At present, the daughters of India feel there is no greater feminist than Pradhan Mantri ji,” she stated. “He stands as the sole flag bearer of feminism. The daughters of this nation will forever be grateful to him.”

Ranaut highlighted that PM Modi has shown consistent belief in the potential, abilities, and aspirations of Indian women, contributing to their increased participation and confidence across various sectors.

“For the faith he has placed in the women of India, we shall always be thankful,” she reiterated, voicing her support for initiatives that empower women.

This special session of Parliament is concentrating on three pivotal Bills aimed at restructuring components of India’s democratic framework. These include proposals to increase the Lok Sabha's size from the current 543 seats and to implement one-third reservation for women in the lower House.

Ranaut strongly backed the proposed legislation, referring to it as a significant and progressive advancement towards boosting women’s representation and involvement in legislative bodies throughout the nation.

In addition to the reservation aspects, she also endorsed linking the Bill with the delimitation process, labeling it a “constitutional necessity” and arguing that such action would help align representation with demographic realities.

She stressed that redrawing electoral boundaries is not only timely but crucial to reflect the changing population dynamics in India and ensure fair representation across various regions.

“The delimitation process is essential and much needed,” she urged, calling on lawmakers to endorse these reform measures.

Her comments coincided with ongoing dialogues aimed at enhancing women’s political participation, as the proposed legislation seeks to expand opportunities for women not just in Parliament but also in state assemblies.

Ranaut’s contribution during the debate underscored her support for a broader policy direction that aims to integrate women more comprehensively into governance and decision-making frameworks.
