New Delhi, March 12 (NationPress) The Deputy Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly Mohan Singh Bisht has urged for decisive measures against AAP leader and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, following a court directive to lodge an FIR against him for suspected fund misappropriation.
Bisht conveyed to IANS that if Kejriwal is found guilty of corruption, it is imperative that the legal system be adhered to, and suitable actions must be executed.
He stated, "If there are corruption charges against him, taking action is essential since the court has mandated an investigation and a case against Arvind Kejriwal. His numerous transgressions and corrupt practices have adversely affected the residents of Delhi, and these court directives must be respected, with his associates also under scrutiny."
Further, he mentioned, “We have consistently maintained that anyone in Delhi guilty of corruption and misusing taxpayer money deserves to be penalized. Currently, under the new administration and the guidance of the Lt. Governor, the Delhi Police is actively conducting daily operations. In the last two days alone, over 20 individuals have been apprehended, which is being duly recorded. We should appreciate the efforts of the Delhi L-G to enhance the law and order situation in Delhi.
A Delhi court on Tuesday mandated the registration of an FIR against Arvind Kejriwal regarding alleged fund misuse linked to hoardings in Dwarka.
Bisht also commended the Delhi L-G for efforts in combating criminal acts. He noted, “Those who previously came to Delhi to engage in theft and other crimes are now being apprehended. This is a positive development, and the police are acting accordingly.”
The AAP has been vocal about the BJP's failure to deliver on its pledge of free cooking gas cylinders for women during Holi. In response, Bisht remarked, "PM Modi’s commitments are always dependable. The cylinders may be distributed shortly before or after Holi, but they will be provided 100 percent. Modiji’s promises are sacred, and we will demonstrate that they will be fulfilled.”
He added, “We are dedicated to improving Delhi, and during Holi, we will commit to persist in our endeavors. We all trust that with the collective efforts of the community, the government’s promises will be realized, which will aid in the enhancement of Delhi.
