Patna, June 6 (NationPress) The chief of Jan Suraaj Party, Prashant Kishor, intensified his criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the ongoing ‘Bihar Badlaav Yatra’ in the Parsa and Sonpur regions of Saran district on Friday.
While addressing public gatherings, Kishor accused national leaders of only visiting Bihar during election seasons and failing to demonstrate a long-term commitment to addressing the state's challenges.
Speaking with reporters after his rally in Parsa, Kishor questioned the timing of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Bihar.
“Why does Rahul Gandhi remember Bihar only during elections?” he inquired.
“Whether it’s Rahul Gandhi or Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they appear here for elections and disappear once the voting concludes,” he stated.
Kishor specifically targeted Gandhi’s comments regarding Bihar's law and order situation.
On Friday, Rahul Gandhi labeled Bihar as a crime hub of India.
“Rahul Gandhi speaks about crime now, but where was he when Lalu Prasad’s jungle raj thrived? His party was part of the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan). Why didn’t he address the law and order issue back then?” Kishor questioned.
He also expressed skepticism about Rahul Gandhi’s grassroots connection with the people of Bihar.
“Has Rahul Gandhi ever spent even a single night in a village in Bihar? Delivering speeches is simple. Truly living with the people and grasping their struggles is an entirely different matter,” Kishor remarked.
In a pointed reply, Kishor reminded Rahul Gandhi of an unfulfilled promise made by his father, the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, in 1989.
“He pledged a Rs 50,000 crore package for Bihar from the podium of Gandhi Maidan in Patna. However, Bihar never received a single rupee from that announcement,” Kishor asserted.
Kishor’s comments arise amid Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Gaya and Nalanda, where the Congress leader has been vocally criticizing both the central and state governments over crime, unemployment, and assaults on constitutional values.
As the political climate in Bihar intensifies in anticipation of the Lok Sabha elections, Kishor’s Bihar Badlaav Yatra continues to garner attention for its grassroots engagement and pointed political messaging.
