Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, March 12 (NationPress) – The Chief of the Jan Suraaj Party, Prashant Kishor, made an appearance in Gaya, Bihar, on Thursday, where he convened a meeting with party members at a local hotel and addressed the press.
In his statements, Kishor launched a pointed critique of Bihar’s political landscape and specifically targeted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
He asserted that Kumar's impending transition to the Rajya Sabha was orchestrated by the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to Kishor, even though the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is projected to secure over 200 seats in the 2025 Assembly elections, Kumar is unlikely to retain his position as Bihar's Chief Minister.
He contended that the BJP had utilized Kumar as a figurehead during the 2025 elections but would subsequently appoint its own leader to govern Bihar.
Taking a jab at the BJP, Kishor remarked that the party would now place its own Chief Minister in Bihar, implying that the administration would be effectively controlled from Gujarat.
He characterized the choice to send Kumar to the Rajya Sabha as part of this broader strategy.
When asked about the emotional content shared on Kumar's social media, Kishor suggested that these posts are crafted by Kumar's aides and officials.
Additionally, he raised concerns about Kumar's health, both mental and physical, questioning his capability to continue leading Bihar.
Kishor also scrutinized Kumar’s Samriddhi Yatra, questioning whose welfare the initiative truly serves.
He asserted that this campaign benefits only a select few rather than the general populace of Bihar.
Despite claims of progress, Kishor pointed out that numerous laborers from Bihar continue to die while seeking work in other states, highlighting the stark economic conditions.
He emphasized that unemployment and migration are critical issues plaguing the state, stating, "If the youth had job opportunities here, they wouldn’t need to leave for work elsewhere."
He also accused the administration of misusing public funds during electoral campaigns, claiming that the state’s financial resources have been depleted and that the ramifications will be felt by the people of Bihar over the coming five years.
Through his remarks in Gaya, Kishor escalated his criticism of both Nitish Kumar and the BJP, labeling the Samriddhi Yatra as a political maneuver that privileges a few leaders rather than serving the interests of the people of Bihar.
