Kolkata, Feb 17 (NationPress) Authorities have apprehended two individuals on allegations of unlawfully detaining two Bangladeshi nationals under the guise of securing visas and extorting funds in Kolkata, as reported by the police on Tuesday.
On Monday, officers from the Technocity Police Station executed a raid at a hotel and successfully rescued the two Bangladeshi citizens.
Among the arrested are two individuals, one of whom is a Bangladeshi national. Law enforcement is currently interrogating the detainees.
The investigation is also delving into the ties between the arrested Bangladeshi citizen and the unlawfully detained individuals. Additionally, authorities are probing any financial disputes.
As per police sources, several days prior, two Bangladeshi individuals, Rajiv Laskar and Junaid Mian, entered India. They arrived in Kolkata with valid visas.
It was reported that their intention was to travel to Turkey from India, and in pursuit of that visa, Rajiv and Junaid contacted a broker named Achintya Kumar Pal.
