Bengaluru, April 21 (NationPress) The Karnataka Police have lodged an FIR against the wife and daughter of the former state DGP Om Prakash, who was discovered brutally murdered at his home in HSR Layout, Bengaluru.

The FIR was initiated following a complaint filed by his son, Karthikesh Om Prakash, as confirmed by police sources on Monday.

In his complaint, Karthikesh mentioned that his father had been receiving life threats from his mother for the preceding week. He further accused his sister of forcibly returning their father home.

His wife, Pallavi, has been named as the primary suspect, with daughter Kriti being the secondary suspect in the FIR.

Karthikesh elaborated that due to these threats, Om Prakash had sought refuge at his sister Sarita Kumari’s residence. “However, two days ago, my sister Kriti went there, harassed my father, and compelled him to return home,” he stated.

“I believe my father, former DGP Om Prakash, was murdered by my mother, Pallavi, and sister Kriti. They both suffer from depression and would frequently argue with my father,” he expressed in the complaint.

“On April 20, around 5 p.m., while I was at the Karnataka Golf Association in the Domlur area, my neighbor Sridharan called to inform me that my father’s body was on the floor. I rushed home and arrived by 5.45 p.m. By that time, police and bystanders had gathered. My father was lying in a pool of blood with head wounds. I noticed knives and a bottle next to the body,” Karthikesh described. The body was subsequently transported to St. John’s Hospital.

The HSR Layout police have charged Pallavi and Kriti under sections 103 (1) and 3 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated on Monday that allegations have emerged regarding the wife’s involvement, although the investigation is ongoing. He confirmed that the wife is presently in police custody and undergoing interrogation.

Addressing the media in Bengaluru, Parameshwara remarked, “No arrests have been made yet in this case.”

Nonetheless, sources revealed that the Karnataka Police were interrogating the wife and daughter of Om Prakash. They were taken to the police station from the Observation Centre in a Hoysala patrol vehicle.

Police sources verified that the deceased officer’s wife, Pallavi, had sent a message to an IPS officer’s wife, asserting that she had “finished off a monster.” Additionally, police have gathered information indicating that Pallavi made a video call after the alleged crime.
