Hyderabad, Dec 26 (NationPress) The working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), expressed his disapproval on Friday regarding Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his derogatory comments directed at BRS President and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. He emphasized that restraint should never be misconstrued as weakness.
KTR stated, "Rather than continuously resorting to abusive, uncivilized, and irresponsible language, the Chief Minister should provide answers to KCR's inquiries."
He reacted vehemently to the persistent personal attacks on KCR, declaring that, as both a son and a party member, silence is not an option for him.
"Daily, they make unfounded claims; one day, he discusses KCR's injury and wishes for his demise, while on another day, he labels him unfit. Observing such language would provoke anger in anyone. If it weren't for democracy, my response would be different. However, out of respect for the constitutional office, I choose to restrain myself," KTR explained.
He warned that restraint should not be confused with weakness, asserting, "I am capable of responding strongly. I was raised in Hyderabad and can articulate forcefully in Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, and English. Yet, I opt for restraint out of respect for the position, not due to fear."
KTR made these remarks at Telangana Bhavan during a gathering focused on welcoming leaders from the Serilingampally Assembly constituency.
He issued a stern political warning to the Chief Minister: "If you possess courage, assure the public that you will fulfill your promises. We will ensure you are not elected even from Kodangal in the upcoming elections. The return of KCR as Chief Minister is imminent," he stated.
KTR pointed out that Revanth Reddy's actions have diminished the dignity of the constitutional role of the Chief Minister and have showcased his inability to address significant public inquiries.
KTR accused the Chief Minister of resorting to foul language due to his lack of answers to straightforward questions posed by KCR.
"KCR posed simple and direct questions. Why has the Palamuru–Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project been halted? Even after the Central Government returned the DPR months ago, why has it not been resubmitted? When nearly 90 percent of the work is already done, why is the government reluctant to invest a little more to ensure water for Palamuru farmers?" he questioned.
Unable to provide factual responses, KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy resorts to abusive rhetoric and personal attacks. "This is not leadership; this is frustration," he remarked.
KTR also mentioned that when KCR questioned the silence of Congress and BJP MPs in Delhi over the injustice being inflicted on Telangana regarding Krishna river water allocations, the Chief Minister seemed to panic.
"Instead of advocating for Telangana's rights, he opted to divert public attention through insults to the opposition," he said.
Addressing unfulfilled promises made by Congress, KTR queried, "What has become of the six guarantees? Where is the Rs 4,000 monthly pension, the tola of gold, the Rs 2,500 pledged to women, and the assurances meant to be fulfilled within 100 days? Two years have elapsed. Why has nothing been accomplished?"
He concluded by stating that when the Leader of the Opposition raises valid questions on behalf of the populace, the Chief Minister should respond with accountability rather than resorting to intimidation.
KTR suggested that Revanth Reddy's ire is a result of concerns over the exposure of alleged real estate transactions, land-related issues, and the so-called 'Future City' saga.
