Lalu Prasad Mourns the Loss of Manmohan Singh, Calls it a 'Personal Tragedy'

New Delhi, Dec 27 (NationPress) The chief of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Lalu Prasad, on Friday, shared a poignant tribute to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, describing his passing as a personal tragedy.
In a heartfelt message on social media platform X, Lalu Yadav conveyed his profound sorrow, commending Dr. Singh's intellect and significant contributions to India's advancement.
"I was deeply saddened to learn about the passing of the esteemed former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Sardar Manmohan Singh epitomized qualities such as honesty, simplicity, gentleness, modesty, humility, intelligence, and foresight," Lalu Yadav expressed in his post.
Reflecting on the former PM’s pivotal role in India's economic evolution, Lalu Yadav noted, "Sardar Manmohan Singh, the architect of economic liberalization, established the groundwork for a modern and self-sufficient India." He articulated that Singh's demise felt like a personal loss, adding, "I was fortunate to receive his endless affection. Working alongside such a humble giant was indeed a privilege."
The RJD leader underscored Dr. Singh’s remarkable contributions during his administration from 2004 to 2014, which he referred to as a golden era for both Bihar and the nation.
"As the head of the RJD, the second largest party in the UPA alliance and serving as Railway Minister, I can attest that from 2004 to 2009, he allocated funds and projects exceeding Rs 1 lakh 44 thousand crore to Bihar for developmental endeavors at our initiative and request. During the Kosi catastrophe, he promptly visited Bihar upon our appeal and provided financial aid, relief goods, and substantial monetary assistance," Lalu Yadav reminisced.
Highlighting Dr. Singh’s lasting legacy, he stated, "Even after his passing, his impact and achievements during the golden period from 2004 to 2014 will be enshrined in history and celebrated even more widely. His legacy will serve as an inspiration for future generations."
In closing his tribute, Lalu Yadav extended his condolences to Dr. Singh’s family and followers. "I express my sincere condolences to his family, dear ones, and admirers during this challenging time. May his soul find eternal peace," he remarked.
Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, a distinguished economist and the mastermind behind India's economic reforms, passed away on Thursday at the age of 92.
His tenure is frequently credited with launching significant economic reforms in 1991 when he served as the finance minister, which facilitated the modernization of India's economy and its integration into the global marketplace.
