Patna, May 25 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav announced the expulsion of his son Tej Pratap Yadav from the party for a duration of six years due to his “immoral and irresponsible behaviour” and failure to maintain the family’s values and traditions.
The decision followed a video posted by Tej Pratap on his Facebook account, where he revealed a 12-year relationship with a woman named Anushka Yadav.
This announcement regarding his ‘love affair’ even during his marriage to Aishwarya in 2018 sparked significant political commentary, with various parties criticizing the RJD chief.
Lalu Yadav took to X to convey the expulsion, stating, “Disregarding moral values in personal life undermines our collective struggle for social justice. The conduct and irresponsible actions of my eldest son do not align with our family’s principles. Consequently, he is removed from both the party and family. He will no longer have any role in either.”
He added, “Tej Pratap will face a six-year expulsion. Anyone who chooses to associate with him must make their own decisions. I have consistently advocated for propriety in public life. The diligent family members have embraced this principle in their public dealings,” Lalu stated in his post.
Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap’s sibling and former Deputy CM of Bihar, affirmed the severance of ties with him.
“I no longer have a relationship with Tej Pratap. RJD President Lalu Yadav has made his decision public. Whatever he chooses to do in his personal life remains his decision and he does not seek advice or permission from anyone in this regard,” he remarked.
