Ludhiana, April 2 (NationPress) On Wednesday, a large gathering of students, NCC cadets, and NSS volunteers came together in Punjab's Ludhiana to take an oath pledging to steer clear of drugs.
Speaking to the press, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia, alongside Ludhiana (West) AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora, stated that the substantial participation of youth in this oath-taking ceremony would bolster the Punjab government's ‘Yudh Nashayian Virudh’ (War Against Drugs) initiative.
He termed this event a remarkable and pioneering achievement.
Today, every young person in Punjab is committing to “never use drugs throughout their lives,” he emphasized.
Participants also pledged to safeguard their families and communities from drug addiction and to report any drug-related activities to law enforcement and government officials.
Sisodia noted that around 15,000 students participated in an awareness campaign across Ludhiana’s marketplaces.
