Bhopal, April 23 (NationPress) In a shocking event in Dabra, located in the Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh, two young men attempted to commit sexual assault on a three-year-old girl who resided in a rented accommodation belonging to one of the suspects, an official stated on Wednesday.
The occurrence transpired within the area overseen by the Dabra City Police Station.
The suspects, named Akash Gupta and his associate Luv, had visited the victim's family living in Akash's rented house.
“On Tuesday afternoon, while the child's mother was preoccupied with cooking, the two men lured the girl under the guise of taking her to buy toffees from a nearby shop. They allegedly attempted sexual assault inside a vehicle, although the medical report has not yet verified the occurrence of sexual assault,” stated Jitendra Nagaich, the deputy superintendent of police for Dabra, in a report to IANS.
“When the girl returned home after some time, she exhibited signs of fear and trauma. Upon questioning by her mother, she disclosed the criminal actions of the two men. Subsequently, her parents went to the city police station to file a report,” the officer remarked.
“Both suspects are currently in police custody, and a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against them under various sections, including the POCSO Act. Authorities have also recorded the statements of the girl and her mother with video documentation,” police sources indicated.
Another distressing incident occurred in the Bada Malehra area of Chhatarpur district on Tuesday.
An eight-year-old girl was enticed by a 45-year-old man with toffees.
After the man failed in his attempt to sexually assault her, he brutally crushed her face with a heavy stone, resulting in her death shortly after at a hospital in Chhatarpur.
This case has garnered significant media attention.
The State Congress President, Jitu Patwari, expressed his outrage and shared a post online regarding the incident, condemning the brutal nature of the crime and criticizing the government’s response to such incidents.
The post detailed how the perpetrator not only assaulted the girl but also inflicted horrific injuries, including biting her ear and rupturing her eye, prior to her death.
