Madhya Pradesh: Lalita's Dream of a Permanent Home Realized through the PM-JANMAN Initiative

Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh), Dec 18 (NationPress) New homes are being constructed in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh as part of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN). These homes come equipped with essential services like tap water, electricity, roads, and community facilities.
Under the PM-JANMAN initiative, the first residential colony for the Saharia tribal community has been established in the Pohri block of Shivpuri district. Located in Bodra Panchayat, this colony features 32 duplex-style homes, all offering basic amenities including water, electricity, roads, and community facilities.
The first home was completed for Lalita, a tribal woman who expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after realizing her dream of owning a permanent house.
Lalita shared with IANS, “I had approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the construction of a colony. PM Modi has responded to that request. A truly beautiful colony has come into existence. PM Modi keeps his promises. Wonderful homes have been built under the PM-JANMAN scheme.”
It is important to note that the PM-JANMAN Yojana was initiated by Prime Minister Modi, specifically aimed at uplifting the most marginalized tribes. The construction of new homes continues unabated in Shivpuri.
On January 15, 2024, Prime Minister Modi spoke with two Saharia tribal women in Hatod Gram Panchayat. During this interaction, Lalita expressed her desire for a colony, which has now been realized.
The CEO of Janpad Panchayat, Girraj Sharma, stated, “This is the fourth JANMAN Colony in Shivpuri district and the first one in Pohri block. The contribution of Shivpuri District Collector Ravindra Kumar Chaudhary was crucial in securing land for this project.”
On December 14, under the PM-JANMAN scheme, 18 families from the tribal community in Kota village of Shivpuri district received new homes. The scheme aims to integrate special backward tribes into the mainstream and provide improved living conditions.
The newly established colony for these families in Kota village is named Adivasi Colony. This colony not only offers basic facilities such as water and electricity but also includes a school for children, facilitating their education and integration into mainstream society.
