Madhya Pradesh: Woman Beneficiary Thanks Modi Government for 2.5 Years of Dialysis Support

Bhopal, Dec 24 (NationPress) A woman named Pushpa Pal, who is benefitting from the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (AB PMJAY) in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district, has expressed her heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing a 'scheme dedicated to the underprivileged and marginalized'.
Pushpa, a resident of Karaira tehsil in Shivpuri district, has been receiving dialysis treatment for over 2.5 years through the Ayushman Bharat program.
In an interview with IANS, Pushpa shared her health issues and the financial challenges she faced in obtaining treatment, but everything changed when she learned about the Ayushman Bharat scheme and began to access its benefits.
During her conversation with IANS on Tuesday, she stated that without the Ayushman Bharat scheme, her treatment would not have been feasible.
"The situation was dire before, but now with the Ayushman card, I am receiving excellent treatment services," she noted.
Pushpa expressed her gratitude to the Modi government, affirming that this scheme has provided her with a new direction in life.
She emphasized that Ayushman Bharat is a remarkable initiative that offers financial support for the medical treatment of the underprivileged.
The Superintendent of the Medical College, Ashutosh, mentioned that approximately 80 percent of the patients at his hospital are being treated under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
He also pointed out that there are numerous patients over the age of 70 who have obtained their Ayushman card and are receiving complimentary treatment.
The AB PM-JAY scheme is one of the many welfare programs initiated by the Modi government, providing beneficiaries with annual coverage of Rs 5 lakh.
Over time, the scheme has seen a steady expansion of its beneficiary base.
Initially, 10.74 crore impoverished and vulnerable families, constituting the bottom 40 percent of India's population, were included under the scheme.
Subsequently, the beneficiary count was updated from 10.74 crore to 12 crore families.
