Maha Kumbh 2025: Enhanced Local Transport with App-Based E-Rickshaws and E-Autos

Prayagraj, Dec 2 (NationPress) With the Maha Kumbh 2025 on the horizon, a crucial initiative is being implemented to enhance local transportation for the numerous devotees expected in Prayagraj. Beginning on December 15, an application-based booking system for e-rickshaws and e-autos will be launched, accessible through platforms such as Ola and Uber.

This project is designed to offer a convenient, environmentally-friendly, and cost-effective transportation solution, effectively tackling the problem of arbitrary fare rates.

Notably, all e-vehicle operators will receive comprehensive training to ensure polite interactions with guests, including language support via Google Voice.

A dedicated fleet of female-driven taxis will enhance safety and comfort for women, with an initial rollout of 30-40 pink taxis. Fares will be established in advance on a per-kilometer basis to guarantee transparency and affordability.

Comfy E Mobility, a startup from Uttar Pradesh recognized by Startup India, is leading this e-rickshaw project. Founder and Director Manu Gupta stated that the aim of the service is to provide safe, eco-friendly transportation.

The app-based service will kick off with a fleet of 300 e-rickshaws, all equipped with GPRS tracking and comfortable seating. Additionally, drivers will not incur any commission fees, ensuring rides remain affordable for passengers.

To prioritize safety and accessibility, only verified drivers will be employed. E-vehicles will be stationed at critical locations including railway stations, bus terminals, airports, and hotels. A Call Centre will also be available to address any complaints or issues.

This initiative supports the Yogi government’s commitment to an environmentally conscious Maha Kumbh by promoting electric vehicles.

According to Comfy E Mobility, this project serves as a pilot for sustainable urban transport, with aspirations to expand to additional cities in Uttar Pradesh following Maha Kumbh. The dual objectives include reducing air pollution and creating job opportunities while ensuring that Maha Kumbh remains a memorable and sustainable event.

The Kumbh Mela 2025, recognized as the largest human gathering on the planet, is scheduled to occur in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, attracting an estimated 45 crore devotees.

The government has reinforced its transportation infrastructure, deploying over 7,000 roadways buses, 550 shuttle buses, and 3,000 trains (including an additional 1,000) to facilitate intercity travel.

Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh government has officially designated the Maha Kumbh area in Prayagraj as a new district, now named the Maha Kumbh Mela district.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Uttar Pradesh on December 13 to assess preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025 and inaugurate significant development projects.

This measure is intended to ensure the smooth management of the Kumbh Mela event and enhance administrative efficiency.
