Mahakumbh 2025: For the First Time, Pilgrims Will Learn About RTI Benefits

Mahakumbh Nagar, Dec 23 (NationPress) In a revolutionary initiative, the government of Uttar Pradesh has disclosed its strategy to inform devotees and pilgrims about the Right to Information (RTI) Act, including its benefits and practical applications.

This unprecedented effort during the Mahakumbh aims to empower citizens by enhancing their understanding of their rights and equipping them to seek justice.

All Information Commissioners from Uttar Pradesh will be present at the Mahakumbh to enlighten attendees about varied aspects of RTI. Additionally, they will be introduced to digital methods for information retrieval.

Importantly, the Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has been at the forefront of an anti-corruption drive, providing much-needed assistance to the public throughout the state while promoting greater accountability and transparency among officials.

All Information Commissioners are anticipated to participate in the Mahakumbh 2025 and interact with the public.

A dedicated camp will be established in the Mahakumbh Mela area, where digital experts will assist devotees in understanding RTI and how to access it through platforms like Google, Facebook, X, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Uttar Pradesh State Information Commissioner Virendra Singh Vats stated that RTI serves as a potent tool for fostering a corruption-free environment in the state.

"Consequently, we are striving to ensure that the rights of ordinary citizens are safeguarded and that the devotees attending the Mahakumbh are informed about these rights," he remarked.

He further noted that, for the first time, efforts of this magnitude are being undertaken to educate devotees about their rights during the Mahakumbh.

"Devotees will discover how to utilize their rights effectively. Comprehensive information regarding RTI will be shared with the public, and there will be discussions in which Information Commissioners will engage with attendees," he added.

Furthermore, the views of the general public will also be collected. All Information Commissioners, together with the Chief Information Commissioner, will connect with devotees to deliberate on measures that can be adopted to enhance the effective application of RTI.

As part of this initiative, the general public will receive books designed to pique their interest.

Virendra Singh Vats indicated that these books will contain valuable insights on RTI, assisting the common people in accessing their rightful information.
