Maharashtra BJP Legislators Assemble Tomorrow to Choose New Party Leader

Mumbai, December 3 (NationPress) Members of the BJP from all over Maharashtra are converging in Mumbai to participate in a pivotal meeting aimed at selecting the leader of the legislature party, set for Wednesday.
This meeting marks a first where both newly elected MLAs and seasoned legislators are gathering at the BJP headquarters located near Mantralaya in south Mumbai to familiarize themselves with the arrangements for the meeting tomorrow. The discussions are intensifying with calls for Devendra Fadnavis to be appointed as the next chief minister.
The party has appointed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani as observers for Wednesday's meeting, who will report on the election of the legislature party leader.
BJP legislator Amit Satam stated, “The legislators are expressing their wish for Devendra Fadnavis, the architect of the BJP’s outstanding performance and a key player in the MahaYuti alliance’s significant victory, to assume the role of chief minister. We anticipate that he will be elected as the leader of the legislature party in tomorrow's meeting.”
Another first-time legislator from the cooperative-dominated western Maharashtra commented that Devendra Fadnavis has significantly boosted the BJP’s representation and vote share, saying, “We desire him to become the Chief Minister.”
A veteran party legislator suggested that Devendra Fadnavis is the leading candidate for the chief minister role. He highlighted Fadnavis's crucial involvement in the BJP's success and his efforts to appease various dissenters while campaigning extensively for both party nominees and MahaYuti candidates.
“Fadnavis is recognized as an exceptional administrator, evident from his approach during his tenure as chief minister from 2014 to 2019,” he noted.
He further asserted that Devendra Fadnavis is a strategic thinker and will play a vital role in managing the forthcoming elections for the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation.
“The BJP is determined to raise the saffron flag at the BMC,” he emphasized.
Additionally, he mentioned that Devendra Fadnavis has established himself as a leader with a vision for development.
“Under his leadership, the state government will strive to elevate Maharashtra to a $1 trillion economy and address fiscal challenges, particularly in light of increasing revenue, fiscal deficits, and public debt,” he stated.
Moreover, he pointed out that Devendra Fadnavis enjoys strong backing from the RSS, which is crucial for his potential ascension to the chief minister position.
