Patna, March 10 (NationPress) On Tuesday, Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar officially inaugurated and laid the groundwork for a series of development initiatives totaling Rs 569.36 crore in Supaul as part of his Samriddhi Yatra. This move underscores the commitment of the state government to enhance infrastructure and spur economic progress.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister launched a combined total of 213 projects.
Among these, 84 projects valued at Rs 434.469 crore had their foundation stones placed, while 129 projects worth Rs 134.8987 crore were officially inaugurated.
Nitish Kumar stated that these initiatives would greatly fortify local infrastructure and foster economic growth in the area.
He also emphasized that the state is receiving robust backing from the central government for its development endeavors.
In light of the announcements in the Union Budget 2025, he highlighted key initiatives such as the formation of a Makhana Board and the construction of a new airport in Bihar.
According to him, these measures will significantly elevate the state's economy and create new job opportunities.
Reflecting on his tenure, Nitish Kumar remarked on the accelerated pace of development in Bihar since his administration took office.
He pointed to advancements in critical sectors, including education, healthcare, electricity, drinking water, and overall law enforcement.
Critiquing previous administrations, he noted that development efforts were limited in the past, and the law-and-order situation was unsatisfactory.
He added that previously, residents were hesitant to venture outside after dark, but conditions have markedly improved now.
The Supaul event is part of the third phase of the Samriddhi Yatra, which sees the Chief Minister visiting various districts in the Seemanchal and Kosi regions from March 10 to March 14.
His schedule includes stops in Kishanganj and Araria on March 11, Katihar and Purnea on March 12, Saharsa and Khagaria on March 13, and Begusarai and Sheikhpura on March 14.
After wrapping up the Supaul event, the Chief Minister took a helicopter to Madhepura, where he plans to stay overnight before continuing his journey.
