Lucknow, April 13 (NationPress) In light of the controversy surrounding SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's comments regarding BSP founder Kanshi Ram, Keshav Prasad Maurya, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, stated on Sunday that Akhilesh is afflicted by the tendency to convey only half-truths.
Taking to the social media platform X, the Deputy CM remarked that if Netaji (the founder of SP, Mulayam Singh Yadav) assisted Kanshi Ram during the 1991 Lok Sabha elections in Etawah, then the Dalit leader reciprocated by not contesting any BSP candidates against the SP patriarch in Jaswantnagar.
Continuing his criticism, Deputy CM Maurya pointed out that the SP’s grim reality is that on June 2, 1995, its associates attempted to sexually assault and murder Dalit leader Mayawati in a state guesthouse located in Lucknow.
However, the BJP, committed to the welfare of Dalits, took action against the SP’s “goons” and protected the dignity and life of Mayawati, he asserted.
He further claimed that the SP is the true adversary of the Dalits and marginalized communities.
BJP leader Ajay Alok also criticized the SP chief for disrespecting Kanshi Ram, noting that Kanshi Ram was the second individual after Bhimrao Ambedkar to advocate for the Dalits and underprivileged groups.
BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya accused Akhilesh of belittling Kanshi Ram to promote Mulayam Singh Yadav's legacy.
“Akhilesh Yadav first insulted the Kshatriya community by backing an SP MP's claim that Rana Sanga was a traitor. Now, he is ridiculing the Dalit community's leader, Kanshi Ram, merely to diminish him in comparison to Mulayam Singh,” Malviya stated.
The statements from these political figures were a reaction to Akhilesh's assertion that Netaji and socialist allies aided Kanshi Ram in his victorious Lok Sabha campaign from Etawah.
