Bhubaneswar, Oct 17 (NationPress) Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Friday urged media professionals to play an active role in disseminating information about the welfare schemes offered by both the Central and state governments. This initiative aims to enhance public awareness and ensure that more citizens benefit from these programs.

The Governor was engaging with media representatives at the New Abhishek Hall located within the Raj Bhavan premises.

He pointed out that a significant number of citizens remain unaware of various social welfare schemes, stating, “If the media brings these initiatives to light, it can remarkably boost public awareness and help more individuals access these advantages.”

Kambhampati stressed that these schemes are vital for enhancing the quality of life for citizens by offering financial security, social protection, and support for future requirements.

Increased awareness can empower more individuals to take advantage of insurance, pension, and savings programs for their children, ultimately fostering stability and well-being within families across the state.

“The media has the ability to articulate these welfare programs to the public, ensuring that more citizens can benefit from them,” Kambhampati remarked.

During the discussion, the Governor also addressed several state-related issues with media professionals, such as tribal development, education, infrastructure, rural development, and the security of media personnel, as well as other significant matters impacting Odisha.

Expressing optimism about Odisha's potential to achieve developed-state status by 2036, he elaborated on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Kambhampati highlighted forthcoming projects from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Indian Railways, which are anticipated to stimulate investment and development in the state.

He also referenced the proposed semiconductor projects and investment proposals garnered during the Utkarsh Odisha initiative, asserting, “I see no reason why Odisha cannot become a developed state by 2036.”

Emphasizing the significance of self-reliance, he cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat and called upon all departments to concentrate on fulfilling the needs of the populace.

On the topic of crime, the Governor underscored the necessity for society to be educated to avert offenses.

“We all share a responsibility,” he stated, additionally recognizing the importance of skill development in tackling migration issues.
