New Delhi, Sep 27 (NationPress) Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is set to spearhead discussions with regulators and banking specialists on effective measures to tackle white-collar crimes and ensure the integrity of India’s developmental narrative during a national conference scheduled for October 11, according to a statement released on Saturday.

Meghwal is anticipated to provide insights into the regulatory and legal frameworks bolstered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration aimed at prosecuting white-collar offenders and enhancing global cooperation against cyber fraud tied to funding terrorism.

The Law and Justice Minister is also expected to urge experts to devise a credible and actionable strategy that will deter white-collar offenses and safeguard the integrity of India’s growth narrative, aligning with PM Modi’s vision for a Viksit Bharat 2047, the statement indicated.

This conference will take place at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi and will gather a diverse array of professionals, including former CBI Special Director Rakesh Asthana, lawyers, chartered accountants, company secretaries, and cost accountants, with a focus on fostering a national network of whistleblowers.

Justice Sanjiv Khanna, former Chief Justice of India, along with Ashish Kumar Chauhan, MD and CEO of the National Stock Exchange, are also expected to discuss the landscape of white-collar crime, which encompasses banking fraud, corporate misconduct, cybercrime, tax evasion, and insider trading.

Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport and Highways Harsh Malhotra, along with former Chair of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India, Dr. M. S. Sahoo, are also slated to share their insights during the TPF Dayitva: A National Legal Conference on Combating White-Collar Crime.

Himmath Jain, National President of TPF, emphasized, “White-collar crime is not merely an economic offense; it represents a moral failure that undermines public trust. TPF Dayitva serves as our call to conscience. By cultivating trust within our systems, raising awareness of civic responsibilities, and fostering confidence in personal integrity, we can emerge as a nation of collective whistleblowers united against white-collar crime.”

Raj Kumar Nahataa, National Convener of the Terapanth Professional Forum (TPF), clarified the goal of the discussion, stating, “Our mission is to align professional excellence with ethical accountability. Although laws and institutions are crucial, they must be supported by individual responsibility.”

He mentioned that at the conference, a range of professional insights will contribute to forming a viable and actionable strategy aimed at preventing white-collar crime and maintaining the integrity of India’s growth narrative, furthering PM Modi’s vision for a Viksit Bharat 2047.
