New Delhi, April 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday encouraged all citizens to embrace mindful eating habits and focus on healthier living.

On the celebration of World Liver Day, PM Modi emphasized the significance of small yet transformative changes, pointing out that actions like reducing oil consumption can profoundly enhance overall health and wellness.

In response to a message from Union Health Minister JP Nadda on X, PM Modi remarked: “A commendable initiative to observe #WorldLiverDay with a focus on mindful eating and healthier lifestyles. Simple actions such as diminishing oil intake can yield substantial benefits. Together, let’s cultivate a fitter, healthier India by promoting awareness about obesity.”

Previously, Nadda urged everyone to commit to decreasing their edible oil consumption by at least 10 percent on this World Liver Day and to embrace a healthier way of life.

“Minor adjustments can lead to significant outcomes when we regard food as medicine,” he posted on X.

“In alignment with PM Modi's call, let’s also commit to increasing awareness about obesity and its escalating effects on our society. Together, let’s strive for a future where healthy living is standard, starting with our dietary choices,” the Union Minister added.

The liver possesses an extraordinary ability to heal itself, and even extensive damage can be reversed with appropriate lifestyle modifications. A diet abundant in fresh fruits, green vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins not only helps prevent liver disease but also promotes liver regeneration.

PM Modi has recently encouraged Indians to embrace a healthier lifestyle and aim for a life devoid of obesity.

He stressed that maintaining personal fitness would greatly contribute to India's aspiration of becoming a developed nation -- Viksit Bharat.

PM Modi reiterated that adopting healthier eating habits, including reducing oil usage, is not merely a personal choice but a social responsibility.

He called for prompt action to avert obesity and liver diseases and proposed a straightforward change: "I want to make a pledge with you today that we should all aim to reduce our cooking oil use by 10 percent. This will be a significant step in combating obesity."

The Prime Minister has consistently championed the fight against obesity and lifestyle-related health issues.
