Earlier that day, the Bahrain Defence Force announced that its missile defense systems successfully intercepted Iranian attacks aimed at the Kingdom. According to their statement, a total of 61 missiles and 34 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) were neutralized. They further assured the readiness of all defense systems to ensure the “immediate and decisive interception” of any potential threats, as reported by Bahrain News Agency.
The General Command emphasized that the use of ballistic missiles and UAVs against civilian structures and private properties constitutes a severe breach of international humanitarian law principles, especially regarding distinction and proportionality. These indiscriminate attacks pose a direct threat to regional peace and security.
Bahrain asserted its rightful claim to undertake all necessary actions to protect its sovereignty and security. The General Command has urged the citizens of Bahrain to exercise utmost caution and vigilance, advising them to stay indoors and only leave their homes when absolutely necessary for public safety. Citizens are encouraged to rely on official and verified information sources, ignore rumors, and avoid areas targeted by attacks.
On Sunday, Bahrain's Ministry of Interior reported that an Iranian assault targeted a maritime facility near Salman Port, and efforts were being made by the Civil Defence to control the resulting fire, as stated by the Bahrain News Agency.
The ongoing conflict in West Asia escalated following joint strikes by the US and Israel on Iran, aimed at diminishing Tehran's missile capabilities and broader military framework.
