Varanasi, April 11 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday delivered a pointed critique of the Opposition for perpetuating the tradition of dynastic politics, claiming they prioritize their family's interests over the public good, contrasting it with the BJP's commitment to inclusive development.
Speaking to a large audience in his electoral constituency of Varanasi, PM Modi laid the groundwork for and inaugurated development projects totaling Rs 3,880 crore.
In a direct challenge to competing political factions, PM Modi stated that certain parties are more concerned with “seizing power” for their families rather than serving the public.
“We are advancing the principle of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'. Yet, there are some whose sole focus is to plot for power, their only objective is 'Parivar ka Saath, Parivar ka Vikas',” he remarked.
PM Modi's mention of 'Parivarvad in politics' was made during his address after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 44 development initiatives, marking his 50th visit to his Parliamentary constituency.
Emphasizing the achievements of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, PM Modi noted that the initiative not only provides free medical care for senior citizens but also restores their dignity and peace of mind.
He recounted his personal experience of distributing Ayushman Vaya Vandana Cards to elderly citizens, saying, “Not long ago, I had the chance to hand over Ayushman Vaya Vandana Cards to several elderly citizens here. The look of satisfaction on their faces was, for me, the greatest success of this scheme.”
Reflecting on the region's evolution over the last decade, the Prime Minister recalled the condition of healthcare facilities prior to 2014.
“The state of medical facilities in Purvanchal before the last decade is widely known. Today, the situation has changed. My Kashi is transforming into a health capital,” he stated.
“The major hospitals of Delhi and Mumbai have now become accessible to you. This is true development — when services are brought to the people,” PM Modi added.
He highlighted that over the past ten years, the government has not only increased the count of hospitals but has also ensured that patients receive treatment with dignity.
“The Ayushman Bharat scheme is a significant blessing for the underprivileged. This initiative offers not just medical care but also faith,” he mentioned.
“When you bestowed us your blessings for the third time, we endeavored to repay through our service. I assured that the elderly would receive free treatment. The Ayushman Vaya Vandana Yojana is a result of that pledge,” he added.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the influence of the current development projects in Varanasi, asserting that the 44 initiatives launched will greatly enhance the quality of life in the region by modernizing services and infrastructure across urban and rural landscapes.
