He acknowledged Manipur's esteemed position in the freedom struggle, recalling that it was here that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's Azad Hind Fauj first raised the Tricolour.
Numerous courageous individuals from Manipur participated in the freedom movement, with some sacrificing their lives for the nation, he pointed out.
As a lasting homage to these sacrifices, the Prime Minister noted that Mount Harriet in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands was renamed Mount Manipur, a lasting emblem of national pride.
Reflecting on his visit to Manipur on September 13 last year, he shared how he was profoundly touched by the warmth expressed by the residents of Churachandpur and Imphal, who came out in large numbers despite adverse weather conditions.
During his September visit, key development projects worth billions of rupees were inaugurated, and foundation stones for several initiatives were laid for the state of Manipur.
In his correspondence, PM Modi reaffirmed his government's steadfast commitment to stand by the people of Manipur and to support all efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and sustained progress.
He also mentioned President Droupadi Murmu's visit to Imphal and Senapati in December, which resonated profoundly with the populace.
