Mohan Babu Expresses Regret Over Journalist Assault

Hyderabad, Dec 13 (NationPress) Veteran Tollywood actor Manchu Mohan Babu on Friday issued an apology regarding an incident where a television journalist sustained injuries at his residence three days earlier.

The actor, who forcibly took the microphone from the reporter of Telugu news channel TV9 and attacked him, expressed his remorse to the journalist and the media outlet.

Mohan Babu, who is facing serious charges including attempted murder, took to the social media platform 'X' to convey his sorrow over the unfortunate event.

"It troubles me greatly that what began as a personal family issue escalated into a significant event, causing distress not only to the respected TV9 family but also to the wider journalist community," he stated, amidst ongoing family disputes with his actor son Manchu Manoj.

The former MP, who was released from the hospital on Thursday, clarified that he had spent 48 hours in medical care and was unable to respond sooner.

The senior actor also recounted his perspective on the event that took place at his residence in Jalpally on the night of December 10.

"In the heat of the moment, when my gate was breached and a crowd of 30-50 individuals, including anti-social elements, forcefully entered my home with harmful intentions, I lost my temper. In this turmoil, the media inadvertently got caught up in the scenario. While I was trying to handle the situation, Mr. Ranjith, one of your journalists, unfortunately, got injured. This was an extremely regrettable outcome, and I sincerely apologize for the pain and trouble caused to him, his family, and the TV9 community," he articulated.

"To Mr. Ranjith and the entire TV9 family, I wholeheartedly apologize for my actions that have caused distress, and I wish for a swift recovery for him," he added.

Mohan Babu was hospitalized following the altercation at his home. Medical professionals indicated that he was admitted due to high blood pressure and anxiety.

Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu summoned Mohan Babu along with his actor sons Manchu Vishnu and Manchu Manoj on Wednesday concerning the cases filed against them. Mohan Babu sought relief from the Telangana High Court, which granted him an exemption until December 24.

Both Vishnu and Manoj appeared before the Commissioner and were instructed to provide an undertaking to refrain from actions that could lead to further disturbances.
