Mohan Babu Faces Legal Action for Assaulting TV Journalist

Hyderabad, Dec 11 (NationPress) Authorities have filed a case against renowned Tollywood actor Mohan Babu following his assault on a television reporter at his home on Tuesday evening.

The Pahadi Shareef Police Station has registered the case under the Bharat Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Section 118 (1), which pertains to inflicting harm with dangerous items or substances.

As per police reports, the First Information Report (FIR) was lodged based on a complaint from M. Satyanarayana, a journalist associated with TV9, a news channel in Telangana.

Mohan Babu allegedly assaulted the reporter when he visited the actor's residence in Jalpally to report on a conflict involving the veteran actor and his son, Manchu Manoj.

The reporter noted in his complaint that after being invited into the house by Manchu Manoj and other journalists, Mohan Babu confronted them in an aggressive manner, using abusive language, seizing the microphone, and striking him with it, causing a significant head injury.

This incident unfolded after Manchu Manoj forcefully entered the house after a dispute with the security personnel stationed at the gate. Alongside Manoj and his security team, several journalists also entered the premises.

When the TV9 reporter posed a question regarding the dispute with his son, Mohan Babu became furious, took the microphone, and assaulted the reporter. The journalist subsequently collapsed to the ground, and the bouncers expelled all journalists from the property.

The injured reporter was taken to a hospital in Shamshabad, where doctors reported that he had sustained three fractures in his zygomatic bone (cheekbone) and would require plastic surgery.

In response to the incident, journalists organized a protest outside the Film Chamber office, demanding that action be taken against Mohan Babu. They insisted that an attempt to murder charge be filed against him.

The journalists also requested that Mohan Babu and his family be expelled from the Movie Artists Association (MAA), the leading organization in Tollywood. Notably, Mohan Babu’s elder son, Manchu Vishnu, serves as the president of MAA.
