Telangana: Mohan Babu Confronts Journalist as Family Feud Escalates

Hyderabad, Dec 10 (NationPress) Renowned Tollywood star Mohan Babu confronted a member of the press on Tuesday during a chaotic scene at his home, linked to ongoing family disputes.

Angered by a news reporter’s inquiry about his conflict with his actor son Manchu Manoj, Mohan Babu, a former member of Parliament, snatched the microphone and assaulted him using it while hurling abusive language.

The incident unfolded when Manoj forcefully entered their family residence in Jalpally after being restricted from entry.

Since Tuesday morning, the Jalpally residence has been the center of a drama akin to a film, particularly following the arrival of Mohan Babu's elder son and actor Manchu Vishnu from overseas.

On Monday, Manoj had filed a police report claiming he was assaulted by approximately ten individuals at his home the previous day. He subsequently engaged in discussions with Mohan Babu in the presence of Vishnu.

Later, Manoj and his wife Mounike visited the Director General of Police's office, where they met with the Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order), Mahesh Bhagwat, expressing fears for their safety.

The actor informed the ADGP about the series of troubling incidents occurring at his home over the past two days and indicated that he and his family felt threatened to their lives. He also requested protection for his wife and children.

Manoj returned to the Jalpally residence only to find the gate secured. Bouncers were stationed at the entrance. When they refused to let him in, claiming his daughter was inside, he broke the gate and entered with his personal security team.

Alongside Manoj and his associates, several journalists also entered the premises. Frustrated by a TV reporter's question, Mohan Babu seized the microphone and attacked him. The actor's bouncers forcibly expelled the media personnel from the location.

After a short while, Manoj emerged from the house with damaged clothing, purportedly having been assaulted inside.

As tensions escalated, numerous police officers were dispatched to the scene. Journalists protested against the attack, demanding an apology from Mohan Babu.

In a related development, police confiscated the legally owned firearms of both Mohan Babu and Manoj to avert any potential violence.

Meanwhile, Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu has issued summons to Vishnu and Manoj, requiring their appearance on Wednesday.

The family conflict took an alarming turn on Tuesday night when Mohan Babu reportedly collapsed at home. His wife also fell ill, leading to their transfer to a private hospital in Gachibowli, accompanied by Manchu Vishnu.

Mohan Babu later released a video statement declaring that Manoj had no claim to the Jalpally residence. He stated that it was his prerogative to leave the house to any of his three children or to donate it.

The veteran actor expressed in the video that he had fulfilled all of Manoj’s desires but felt betrayed and that his image had been tarnished. He indicated that his wife was hospitalized due to the stress caused by Manoj.

Previously, police registered cases based on complaints from both Mohan Babu and Manoj.

Following a letter from Mohan Babu to the Rachakonda Police Commissioner, a case was filed against Manoj and his wife Monika at the Pahadi Shareef Police Station.

This case is filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 329 (house trespass) and 351 (criminal intimidation).

The same police station also recorded a case on Manoj's complaint about the assault by ten individuals at his residence on Sunday. This case includes charges under sections 329, 351, and 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) against Vijay and others.

Although Manoj filed a complaint with the police on Monday, he did not implicate his father or any other family members.
