Hyderabad, Feb 3 (NationPress) Renowned actor Manchu Mohan Babu and his son, actor Manchu Manoj, made their appearance before the Rangareddy District Collector and District Magistrate regarding a property conflict on Monday.
The father-son duo laid out their positions before Collector and District Magistrate Pratima Singh.
Reportedly, they engaged in a tense verbal confrontation in the presence of the official. Mohan Babu alleged that Manoj has unlawfully taken over his property.
During the nearly two-hour hearing, they submitted all relevant information regarding the property dispute.
Mohan Babu, who is a former member of the Rajya Sabha, insisted that Manoj vacate the residence in Jalpally village, asserting that Manoj has no rightful claim to the property purchased with his hard-earned money.
Recently, Mohan Babu reached out to authorities, seeking protection under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act. He accused Manoj of unlawfully entering his home in Jalpally and demanding property rights.
A few days prior, Manoj had appeared before the Additional Collector of Rangareddy district to advocate for his case.
Following this, the Collector and District Magistrate summoned both Mohan Babu and his son for a follow-up hearing, instructing them to appear again next week.
Police established strict security measures at the district-integrated office complex in Kongarkalan.
The veteran actor's family has been embroiled in this conflict for nearly two months, with both parties filing police reports against each other.
The residence in Jalpally experienced a confrontation on December 10. Mohan Babu and his sons faced charges under BNS sections 329 (4) (criminal trespass and house trespass) and 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt) r/w 3 (5) related to the incidents at the home.
Additionally, Mohan Babu found himself in further trouble after allegedly assaulting a television reporter by seizing the microphone from him, resulting in an attempt to murder charge.
Actor Manchu Vishnu, who supports his father in this dispute, and Manoj both appeared separately before Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu as part of the ongoing investigation.
Last month, police intervened to prevent Manoj from entering Mohan Babu University in Tirupati.
