Hyderabad, April 9 (NationPress) The dispute within the family of legendary Tollywood actor Manchu Mohan Babu has reemerged as his son, actor Manchu Manoj, was found sitting outside their residence after being refused entry on Wednesday.
On the heels of filing a police report regarding a car theft against his brother, actor Manchu Vishnu, Manoj arrived at the family home located in Jalpally, just outside Hyderabad. Unfortunately, he was barred from entering the premises and was seen waiting at the locked gate.
Authorities were stationed outside the residence to avert any potential disturbances.
Manchu Manoj had lodged a complaint with the Narsingi police on Tuesday, accusing his brother, Manchu Vishnu, of stealing valuable possessions and his vehicle while he was away in Rajasthan for his daughter's birthday celebration.
In his statement, Manoj claimed that during his trip to Jaipur on April 1, Vishnu, accompanied by around 150 individuals, unlawfully entered the Jalpally home and took his car, even attacking his security personnel in the process.
Manoj alleged that Vishnu and his associates destroyed his property.
According to Manoj, his vehicle was later located at Vishnu's residence. He informed reporters that when the police attempted to retrieve the car from Vishnu's place, it had already been transferred to Madhapur.
Family tensions had intensified late last year due to ongoing property disagreements.
Previously, Manoj had filed complaints against both Mohan Babu and Manchu Vishnu, while also facing cases filed against him by his father and brother.
On February 3, both Manchu Mohan Babu and Manchu Manoj appeared before the Rangareddy District Collector concerning the property conflict, where they were involved in a heated exchange.
Mohan Babu accused Manoj of encroachment on his property, demanding that he vacate the premises. He asserted that Manoj had no rightful claim to the property, which was purchased with his earnings.
In a formal letter to authorities, Mohan Babu sought protection under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, alleging that Manoj had illegally entered his Jalpally home while demanding property rights.
The Jalpally residence had also been the scene of an altercation on December 10, resulting in Mohan Babu and his sons facing charges under BNS sections 329 (4) (criminal trespassing) and 115 (2) (voluntary hurt) in connection with the incidents.
Things escalated for Mohan Babu when he was accused of assaulting a television reporter after seizing the microphone from him, leading to an attempt to murder charge.
Actor Manchu Vishnu, who is supporting his father in this conflict, along with Manoj, appeared before Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu following a summons.
In January, police intervened to prevent Manoj from entering Mohan Babu University in Tirupati.
