Bhopal, Jan 15 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, is set to deposit the monthly instalment of the Ladli Behna Yojana into the bank accounts of over 1.25 crore beneficiaries during a ceremonial gathering in Makhan Nagar, situated in the Narmadapuram district, this Friday.
A statement from the Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday revealed that more than Rs 1,836 crore will be credited to the accounts of eligible beneficiaries throughout the state.
Additionally, the Chief Minister will distribute over Rs 90 crore to assist 29 lakh beneficiaries with gas cylinder refilling costs. During this event, Chief Minister Yadav will also lay the foundation stones and inaugurate various development initiatives for the Narmadapuram region.
Each recipient of the Ladli Behna scheme will receive Rs 1,500, following an increase of Rs 250 implemented last November. This marks the first instalment of 2026 and the 32nd since the launch of the scheme in June 2023.
The initiative initially began with a monthly payment of Rs 1,000 under the administration of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a few months ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections.
In September 2023, the amount was raised to Rs 1,250. Chief Minister Yadav has previously mentioned plans to increase this to Rs 3,000 by 2028.
It is important to note that the next Assembly elections in the state are scheduled for 2028.
According to government data, from June 2023 to December 2025, a cumulative total of Rs 48,632.70 crore has been transferred to beneficiaries’ accounts under the scheme.
From January 2024 to December 2025, the transfers alone are expected to reach Rs 38,635.89 crore.
The government stated, “The Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana has provided economic stability, self-sufficiency, and dignity to women statewide. In the future, there will be focused efforts to connect beneficiary women with employment, self-employment, and skill development programs, empowering them further financially.”
