Mother of 3-Year-Old Trapped in Borewell Appeals for Urgent Rescue After 6 Days

Jaipur, Dec 28 (NationPress) The devastated mother of 3-year-old Chetna, who tragically fell into a borewell on Monday afternoon in Kotputli, Rajasthan, is earnestly urging the authorities to rescue her daughter and bring her to safety.
Dhole Devi, Chetna’s mother, has been seen making emotional appeals to officials, stating on Saturday, "For God’s sake, take my daughter out," reflecting her deep despair. This harrowing situation has left her in utter distress as rescue efforts continue without pause.
Chetna's uncle, Shubhram, voiced concerns on Saturday, mentioning the lack of responsiveness from officials. "If you ask too many questions, they reply, 'The Collector ma'am will inform you; she’s currently resting,'" he shared.
He lamented that the District Collector has not yet visited their family.
Dhole Devi is in profound grief, crying uncontrollably and pleading for her daughter’s safe extraction, he added.
The young girl is trapped at a depth of 150 feet, with her family and the local community anxiously awaiting her rescue.
In Kotputli, a relentless rescue operation has now entered its sixth day to save three-year-old Chetna, who fell into a 700-foot-deep borewell on December 23. Rescue teams have made significant progress, having completed the welding of the casing pipe by Saturday morning. The next step involves digging an 8-foot horizontal tunnel at a 90-degree angle, which officials hope will facilitate Chetna’s safe recovery soon.
The completion of the casing pipe welding allows the team to focus on the construction of the horizontal tunnel. Equipment such as fans, lights, oxygen supplies, and cutter machines have been sent down the borewell to assist in the operation. For safety precautions, the administration has limited media access to the site.
The delay in executing alternative rescue strategies has drawn criticism, with many arguing that simultaneously implementing Plan B alongside Plan A could have hastened the process and possibly avoided this extended rescue duration.
Despite these hurdles, rescue teams are dedicated to bringing Chetna back safely, holding onto hope for a favorable outcome.
