Gandhinagar, Sep 18 (NationPress) - In a significant nationwide effort, Gandhinagar is participating in a massive free medical camp initiative set to run until October 2.
This campaign, launched in celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, features large-scale blood donation events and comprehensive health assessments as part of the "Swasth Nari – Sashakt Parivar" program.
Within Gandhinagar district, these health camps are being organized at primary health centers and various localities, specifically targeting women's health.
Women are receiving preventive health screenings aimed at protecting them from prevalent health issues—a thoughtful gesture from the Prime Minister on his special day.
According to Vaishnav, the Chief District Health Officer of Gandhinagar, these camps provide a comprehensive array of diagnostic services, including general health check-ups, cancer screenings, ENT, vision, dental, and mental health evaluations.
Participants are also being informed about government health schemes such as the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana Card, and Maa Vandana Card.
“These health facilities are offering both specialized and super-specialized services. Screenings for hypertension, diabetes, oral, cervical, and breast cancer are being conducted, alongside anaemia detection and counseling. Pregnant women are receiving antenatal care, while children are offered immunization services. Additionally, guidance on sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual health is being provided,” stated Vaishnav.
Vishnu Joshi, the Deputy Health Officer of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, reported that over 100 individuals took advantage of the outpatient services during the first day of the medical camps.
“Specialists, including gynecologists, pediatricians, and ophthalmologists, are delivering complimentary diagnoses and medications. The turnout has been notably positive,” he added.
This initiative is part of a broader national strategy to enhance public healthcare accessibility and promote the idea that a healthy woman leads to a stronger family.
Recently, the State Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi inaugurated what is touted as the world’s largest blood donation camp at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
This event, coordinated by the Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, coincided with Prime Minister Modi's 75th birthday and the organization’s 61st Foundation Day, themed “Raktadan Amrit Mahotsav 2.0”.
During the event, Minister Sanghavi remarked that this initiative is inspired by Prime Minister Modi's principle of “Seva Parmo Dharma” (service as the highest duty) and epitomizes a shared commitment to humanity.
“Blood donation is more than just saving lives; it fosters community strength and contributes to a healthier nation,” he emphasized, noting that countless individuals are motivated by these acts of kindness.
