Navy Chief's Visit to NCC: A Symbol of a Mini India

New Delhi, Jan 6 (NationPress) The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a reflection of a mini-India that is set to steer the nation towards Viksit Bharat, stated Indian Navy chief, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi on Monday.

While addressing the NCC Republic Day Camp 2025 in Delhi Cantonment, he commended the NCC cadets for their exceptional standards and flawless turnout.

The Navy chief underscored the cooperation between the NCC and the Navy as an exemplary model of synergy and collaboration. He noted that over the previous year, more than 200 cadets were trained at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala; 100 cadets received yachting training in Goa, Kochi, and Vizag; nearly 250 cadets participated in sea training at Vizag and Mumbai; 20 cadets sailed with the 1 Training Squadron visiting 10 countries as part of the Over Seas Deployment (OSD); and 150 cadets engaged in Sea Sailing on the INSV Tarangini from Mumbai to Vizag.

He encouraged the cadets to carry the ethos of NCC to every part of the country with enthusiasm and high spirits.

The navy chief also recognized the NCC’s community development initiatives, such as Swachhta Pakhwada, tree plantation drives, blood donation camps, cancer awareness programs, and efforts like ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’, which enhance social awareness and contribute to nation-building.

Admiral Tripathi praised the DG NCC for showcasing exceptional vision and leadership in elevating the profile of the NCC.

He reiterated Swami Vivekananda’sViksit Bharat.

Admiral Tripathi urged that the motto of Unity and Discipline, along with the core values of patriotism, commitment, and social service that cadets embody during this camp, would shape them into exemplary citizens.

He imparted a mantra to the cadets, stating that to succeed and meet their goals, they must possess a combination of attitude and aptitude, along with self-belief, character, commitment, and self-discipline.

He quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, saying, 'It is due to the strength of youth like you that the world looks at India with hope and expectations.'

The Chief of the Naval Staff also mentioned that the Navy organized the All India Nausainik Camp at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, and the All India Yachting Regatta at INS Chilka, where cadets traveled to various countries during OSDs on naval vessels to gain international exposure.

He appreciated the large participation of NCC cadets in the Coastal Security ExerciseSea Vigil’ and assured them of ongoing support from the Navy for conducting naval wing training activities.

During the event, the CNS toured the ‘Hall of Fame’, where he was briefed on the rich history of the NCC, including dedicated sections for the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and was informed about the training and achievements.

He also attended a cultural performance by the cadets in the NCC Auditorium.
