Patna, April 20 (NationPress) Following the recent failure of the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, where the Opposition raised concerns over its connection to delimitation, a significant protest march was organized by hundreds of women affiliated with the NDA at Gandhi Maidan on Monday, under the Mahila Morcha banner.

Women from various regions of Bihar took part in this 'March of Outrage', passionately chanting slogans and displaying placards advocating for women’s rights and enhanced representation.

The event was spearheaded by prominent NDA figures, including Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, who actively participated and addressed the crowd.

In his speech, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to ensuring women’s safety and empowerment.

He launched a robust critique of the Opposition, claiming that those who previously opposed women’s reservation are now politicizing the matter.

He further stated that the Mahagathbandhan's uncooperative behavior has led to women being denied their rightful benefits.

Despite the sweltering heat, the protest was marked by high spirits, with participants shouting slogans like “Women’s dignity is our right” and “We refuse to accept any disrespect towards Nari Shakti.”

The march commenced from JP Golambar and moved towards Kargil Chowk, creating significant activity in central Patna throughout the day.

BJP leader Malti Devi criticized the Opposition for their contradictory stance, asserting that the government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to guarantee women’s representation in both Parliament and State Assemblies, but the Bill was hindered by Opposition resistance.

“Our fight will persist, and we will communicate this message to every citizen. We will not relent until women receive their due share,” she proclaimed.

In a symbolic act, BJP leader Chandni Pandey appeared with chains around her wrists, alleging that the Mahagathbandhan intends to keep women constrained and hinder their political empowerment.

“We want to declare that women will no longer be confined. We will claim our rights by any means necessary,” she declared.

Another BJP leader, Shanti Singh, echoed this sentiment, mentioning that the Prime Minister envisioned greater representation for women in legislative frameworks, yet the Opposition has obstructed this goal.

The NDA has pledged to extend the protest movement to block and district levels, aiming to galvanize public opinion and augment pressure on the Opposition regarding this matter.
